On Curation is a two-year mentorship project led by Vancouver New Music that supports experimental and forward-thinking approaches to sound and music curation. Mentors Aki Onda (Japan/US), Raven Chacon (Diné), Laura Netz (Spain/UK) and Peter Hatch (Salt Spring Island) have been paired with four emerging Canadian curators with a focus on deep, one-on-one exchanges that explore new models of curatorial practice.
Through research, dialogue, and collaborative development, On Curation aims to generate accessible and socially engaged programming, culminating in public presentations as part of our 2025-26 season. This initiative seeks to reimagine curatorial work as a dynamic, responsive, and sound-informed process of cultural inquiry and connection.
